The Republic of Sierra Leone is located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa, it is surrounded by Guinea in the north and east, borders Liberia in the southeast, and its capital is Freetown. The war in January 2002 came to an end, with a large influx of foreign aid to help rebuilding Sierra Leone.
