Thanks to the innate location advantage and a solid foundation for cooperation in economy and trade, ASEAN is an important area promoted by the Belt and Road Initiative. The implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative is divided into two aspects. One is the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road which involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Brunei. The other is Indo-China Peninsula Economic Corridor which involving Vietnam, Laos, Kampuchea, Burma and Thailand. The project created by China and ASEAN and its implemantation have a significant exemplary role for other countries and regions along the route. Throughout the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in ASEAN, we have achieved a great success. But at the same time there are some problems.

At present, the Belt and Road Initiative have gotten great progresses and remarkable achievements in ASEAN, which mainly reflected in the following aspects: Firstly, the policy communication is fruitful, the strategic link between ASEAN countries have been achieved basiclly, the multilevel intergovernmental communication mechanism is forming. Secondly, the infrastructure construction represented by "going out" strategy of high-speed rail is developing quickly, the stereoscopic intertioanal gateway which guided by infrastructure has taken a shape. Thirdly, the international capacity cooperation has been promoted closely, the facilitation of trade and investment has improved rapidly. Fourthly, supported by ASEAN countries, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank provided a solid guarantee for financing. Forthly, folk contact is increasingly active and has created a social foundation for human communication by takeing humanity and tourism as a link and science and technology exchange as a motivation.

Although the Belt and Road Initiative has gotten a success, but there are some problems. The key economic section of Indochina Peninsula is absent, the technical standard and transport rules among countries are inconsistent, the operation mechanism and supervision mechanism of financial markets in various countries are different and the level of financing is unbanlanced, public communication needs to be further communicated and targeted and the mode of communication needs to be improved.

The Belt and Road Summit hold in Beijing from May.14,2017 to May.15 is a grand party between China and other countries and regions along the route since the initiative was proposed. There were 28 heads of government and officials, scholars, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, media and other personages from 110 countries and representatives from 61 international organizations have attend this summit. So this party provided a platform for policy exchange and human communication, which can help China and ASEAN countries better understand the Belt and Road Initiative and eliminate misunderstandings. This summit is expected to bring more benefits to China and ASEAN countries. On the one hand, more and more ASEAN governments may sign a cooperation planning documents and memorandum with China. On the other hand, the economic and trade cooperation will be the top priority of bilateral discussions. A large number of projects and cooperation agreements which involve infrastructure interconnection, ocean capacity cooperation, construction machinery, communication and information technology and other fields are expected to be promoted.

In conclusion, China and ASEAN will develop closer mutual benefits and cooperation by taking the Belt and Road Summit as a new starting point and having the aid of the Belt and Road construction, to achieve win-win development and create the Belt and Road construction demonstration area.
